After ten years leading design efforts within a large corporation, that is precisely what I set out to do. However, what quickly becomes apparent is that your skills as a designer will only take you so far. I recently attended APDF’s Leadership Forum in Boston. We had a great turnout of thirty-plus people to enjoy the hospitality of Brian Matt and his team at Altitude. Great studio, great food, great networking and great fun!

I recently returned from the APDF Leadership Forum in Boston where all the attendees spent two days discussing appropriate answers to the question “You Do What?”. The dialogue began with everyone sharing their own personal one-minute elevator pitch. Those discussions led me to reflect on a situation that I frequently encounter but have rarely considered relevant to my profession until now. Possibly you have experienced something similar.
